Randy Smedley is a distinguished biomedical engineering executive with over 40 years of experience in healthcare technology management and clinical engineering. He currently serves as Chief Medical Technology Officer for Phoenix Bio-Medical Equipment Services LLC, where he directs the company’s technical strategy and service innovation, helping healthcare providers, especially in rural and underserved areas—access high-quality medical equipment support and solutions.

Over the course of his four-decade career, Randy has built and led biomedical engineering programs at every level. He previously served as President of SmedleyUSA and Clinical Engineering Consultants, delivering integrated services in medical equipment sales, support, and engineering. At St. Elizabeth Healthcare, he established and expanded a clinical engineering department that supported a 780-bed, seven-location system with over $69 million in equipment assets.

Randy holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Purdue University and a Master’s degree in Hospital Administration from the University of Cincinnati. He has also earned numerous certifications in medical technology, software development, and managerial coaching. Known for his hands-on expertise and visionary leadership, Randy continues to drive innovation and operational excellence in clinical technology services across the healthcare industry.
